Today, I extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the people of France who have lost their lives and been affected by the horrific attacks in Paris Friday evening.
It greatly saddens me to see this tragedy unfold and in the name of liberty, equality, and fraternity, I stand with the people of France in their time of need.
I fully condemn the acts that have been perpetrated in Paris Friday evening. The world must stand united in the struggle against terrorism and justice should be brought to those who would seek to kill and harm others.
I was just in Paris several days ago to attend a conference on Iraq with colleagues from France, the United States, and the Middle East. We gathered in order to discuss the state of affairs in Iraq and to find ways to bring about peace and reconciliation to the people of Iraq.
While I know the people of France are grieving and it will take time to recover from these despicable attacks; I have no doubt whatsoever that the resilience and courage that mark French society will shine through at these dark times.
On behalf of PAFI and myself, our thoughts and prayers are with Paris.
